FILM: Endless
Romance
PRODUCTION:
Joey and David
GENRE:
Comedy
CONTENT WARNING:
Contains profanity and adult situations.
TOTAL RUNNING TIME
(TRT): 02:55
TAMPA BAY FILM OPINION:
A
parody of a CD compilation commercial gone wrong. Simply hilarious, with
good acting and decent production values. We only wish that the filmmakers
lived in Tampa Bay, but they don't. They live in New York. Once again,
this film could easily be done here in Tampa Bay, but we lack a community
of talented, professional filmmakers to pull it off at the moment. Another
lesson for our aspiring Tampa indie filmmakers out there.

TAMPA BAY FILM OPINION:
A
comedy about a child star who is now a teacher. We only wish that the
filmmakers lived in Tampa Bay, but they don't. They live in New York.

By the age of 10, Timmy Gibbons was on the cover of every magazine, billboard,
and lunch box in America as the precocious young star of the hit TV-series
"Bobby Boy Wonder." But that was 26 years ago.
SHORT
FILM: Emma's
Dilemma
PRODUCTION:
Scad Shorts
GENRE:
Comedy
CONTENT WARNING:
General audiences.
TOTAL RUNNING TIME
(TRT): 02:57
TAMPA BAY FILM OPINION:
A
funny short which reminds us of the shorts that were screened during the
run of "On the Lot". Another example of a film which
could be done here in Tampa Bay for a low budget.

FILM: Laundry
Room Girl
PRODUCTION:
Joey and David
GENRE:
Comedy
CONTENT WARNING:
Contains suggestive themes.
TOTAL RUNNING TIME
(TRT): 01:13
TAMPA BAY FILM OPINION:
This
had our attention, and it was short and effective. This actually happened
to one of us once (all except for the girl getting into the machine),
and it reminds us of the laundry room at the University of Tampa and a
model named Denise. Good short. We only wish that the filmmakers lived
in Tampa Bay, but they don't. They live in New York. Once again, this
film could easily be done here in Tampa Bay, but we lack a community of
talented, professional filmmakers to pull it off at the moment. Another

FILM: Holiday
Disaster
PRODUCTION:
Smart Indie Films
GENRE:
Comedy
CONTENT WARNING:
General audiences.
TOTAL RUNNING TIME
(TRT): 01:00
TAMPA BAY FILM OPINION:
Anyone
ever have a meltdown during their holiday showcase? We don't, because
we're smart like that. We know what we are doing. This is a cute short,
but is nothing great. The special FX are passable.

SHORT
FILM: Last
Minute Gift
PRODUCTION:
Jason Meinig and Elliot Dozier
GENRE:
Comedy
CONTENT WARNING:
General audiences.
TOTAL RUNNING TIME
(TRT): 06:47
TAMPA BAY FILM OPINION:
Another
entry in Tampa's 48 hour film "contest". A bit rough because
of the rush job. Shooting a film next to busy Bayshore in south Tampa
was a mistake (due to noise and long takes), and the acting was either
unrehearsed, or really bad if it was rehearsed. We did like the story,
the ending, and the use of music through the creative commons license.
Let this be a lesson that these 48 hour contests are wastes of time, because
the time constraints handicap the filmmaker. The execution could have
been much better if they had time to cast real actors and took their time
planning, shooting, and editing.

MUSIC
VIDEO : Skittles
PRODUCTION:
The Charming Hooligans: Joe Davidson, Jason Kraynek, Chris Gorges, and
Marty Hoffman
GENRE:
Comedy
CONTENT WARNING:
Guidance Suggested.
TOTAL RUNNING TIME
(TRT): 04:10
TAMPA BAY FILM OPINION:
What
in the .....?!?!?! A very, very strange video parody on the Skittles candy
starring Joe Davidson as a sailor. We're guessing that they are going
for the Village People theme because, in this video, Skittles is laced
with an acid-type aphrodisiac drug and makes manly men happy and skip'n
GAY. Alrighty, now, we get it. Skittles.. Rainbow colors... Village people.
This needed to be more creative and original. Very poorly shot and executed,
and disturbing on so many levels - what is up with mixing Enya and Britney
Spears? We found this very funny, too, especially after seeing the man
who would go on to co-create the excellent 100 Tears. Tampa indie filmmaking
has come a long way since 1999, and Joe Davidson (the Sailor) proves that,
once again, he is an acting God.
